James H. Colson II, DDS

Dr James Colson II is dedicated to creating beautiful smiles by employing the most advanced dental healthcare available. With continuous education, he uses the most progressive technology to apply new and innovative techniques to make your experience at the Colson Dental Group as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. He attends several meetings and participates in several hands- on courses each year to stay on the cutting edge.

Dr Colson II is a Raleigh native, attending Ravenscroft School. He graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. Dr Colson II then obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he received the R. F. Sommer award for Endodontics (Root Canals). He then obtained two years of advanced training at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University at Harlem Hospital where he was the Chief resident in his final year, supervising and training eleven other residents. Continuing his education, Dr Colson II completed a year- long Surgical Implant Placement program with the Misch International Implant Institute in affiliation with Temple University. Dr Colson II has exceeded his requirements for continuing education by ten- fold. Dr Colson II maintains memberships in many dental organizations. His memberships include:

Dr Colson II is an avid sports fan. In his spare time Dr Colson II enjoys watching his favorite teams, working out at the gym, playing golf, and traveling.
